Quick Start

Add DamageFlash script to the object root.

Select one of preset materials

Press Test Flash button to test to check results.

Call _damageFlash.Flash(); from script.

Script Options

Duration In seconds - duration of a single flash animation

Damage Material - preferable damage material. Selected material won't be used directly but its settings will be applied to result materials.
Restart - Select this checkbox if you prefer previous animation to be cut and restarted on every flash

Shaders

There are three types of damage shader

DamageFlash2D for sprites and UI
DamageFlash3D for models and environment

DamageFlash3D_Transparent for transparent geometry bits

You don’t need to use them directly but it's good to know what’s under the hood

Material Options

Tint - main color

Highlight - opposite color

Contrast Point - tweak this value if colors don't outline the model/sprite properly. Basically this is a brightness midpoint at which tint/highlight colors are separated

Contrast - additional contrast

Flashes Per Second - frequency of flashing animation

Flash Start Time - used only from scripts
Pixel snap - 2D specific option for crisp pixel perfect sprites

Scripting

Flash() - main method, starts the effect and flashes for default duration

Flash(float durationInSeconds) - starts the effect and flashes for flashSeconds

SetMaterial(Material material) - sets target flash material

Maintenance methods
ClearCaches() - clears all generated materials
TestFlash() - resets current state, restores materials and starts animation
